Refurbished our favorite French press which we use daily.Perfect fitWe are not sure if this because we are just really aggressive with the plunger or poor craftsmanship but the nut at the base bends slightly after 2 -3 years use. We use ours daily. It is the only one we have found to be made with silicone so that minute metal shavings aren't happening with each pot. We'd give it more stars but because we have had to replace it 2x in the last 8 years. It works just as new! not a bad priceThe Bodum V1508-ISR Columbia French Press Spare Cross Plate fits perfectly and works well in our approx 9 year old stainless steel thermal Bodum French Press.I have a French press sold by Bodum through Williams Sonoma about 15 years ago or more . It was a $100.00 then and the stainless is still in outstanding condition. The cross plate was starting to show signs of wear so I went looking for a replacement part on Amazon not really expecting to find one. Thanks to a customer review or answer which gave the diameter of the V1508-ISR part as 3.5 inches I decided to order it to see if I had a chance of saving my press!!! It works and the impressive part is that Bodum designed this with the metal nut my press used already as a part of the cross plate so that by taking mine off it was a perfect fit !!!! Truly impressive !!!A helpful person at William Sonoma helped me identify the spare cross plate and how to order it. It is something one usually does not expect to need replacing, but when one does get shredded a new one is necessary. I'm going to order a couple of spares which should last for years.I prefer this to the all metal plate, even though I don't like the idea of the plastic . Ideally they will come up with a more sustainable version of this product that works well and is environmentally friendly. The problem with the all metal version of this product is that many grains of coffee slip through the sides after you plunge it down. The soft plastic edge of this cross plate fits snugly against the edge of the coffee maker preventing coffee grinds from slipping through. I have run it through the dishwasher many times and it seems to stand up to it just fine.I bought my Bodum Columbia while I was living in America. And after regular use over the last 16 years the filter was becoming more and more difficult to press down. So glad I found is replacement. Unscrew the old and screw on the new one. Let's see how long this one lasts. We use our bodum for tea and after 10 years there was a built up on the filter, this new filter is like a new bodum. Only loses a point because it was very expensive for what it is. It fits perfectlyFits my old press perfectly and I can actually press it down again. My old filter was letting all the grounds seep into the coffee which meant I was discarding the last half inch of coffee in my mug. This is great and I am not wasting coffee any more. It was much cheaper than from the Bodum website.Just what was needed.
