This helps with my bread and pizza dough and pie crusts. Don’t know how I did without itIf you're looking to replace a section of your kitchen counters with silicone lining for easier baking needs, look no further! Comically enough, despite carefully reading the dimensions of this mat, I still underestimated the size.I will cover the surface area of any traditionally/standard counter, from backsplash/wall to edge without issue, and at 32" long, it will offer plenty of workable space. The measurement markings on the mat are incredibly useful--from pie crust sizing, to lined length markings, and even imperial to metric conversions--there's even an indicator on the mat stating it's usable in up to 500 degree temperature, so I suppose you can use it as a liner to bake things (assuming it will fit on the baking tray or your oven).The only "down side" for this pastry mat is how thin it is. If I had to guess, it's maybe 1-2 mm in thickness... while that's not an issue for me, I don't plan to slice anything on this, but I quickly learned how difficult it made washing the mat due to it's large size and flimsy thickness--it simply doesn't hold up and it sticks to itself that much more easily. I have an extra large kitchen sink, and I still struggled to wash this mat.Otherwise, it works as advertised and is at a great value, comparing it to other branded mats and given its size.I gave this a 4 because my pie dough does stick to it and I have to use as much flour to avoid sticking as I do on my wood board. I love the patterns so I can roll out the dough in a perfect circle in various circumferences depending on my pie plate. It does not slide around on the counter and is easy to pick up and wash in the sink. To dry, I use a hanger and 2 clothes pins and hang it over my utility sink.very easy to clean, better than big cutting board, just roll it into a stick and store. only thing to remember, do not use knife to cut your dough, use dough cutter.During this pandemic, I've been cooking up a storm. One thing I've been cooking a lot of are ethnic breads--pitas, chapatis, and rotis, which all require rolling out the dough into a flat circle. Before purchasing this pastry mat, I rolled the dough on my counter top, which always made a big mess to clean up. I love this mat because it doesn't slide around while rolling out the dough. The circle guidelines help with judging the size of bread I need and the overall size of the mat is perfect. I also purchased a silicone pastry cutter to keep from damaging the surface.Cleanup is a breeze--just wash by hand in the sink and hang it up to dry. Once thoroughly dry, I roll it up and store it in the drawer next to the rolling pin. I can't believe I've been cooking for 50 years without a pastry mat. Highly recommend it.I love this sticky mat. It’s very sticky, stores easily, and is easy to clean. BUT it does cut easily. Some of my fondant tools cut though it and I was so sad.Easy to clean and is durable.The only thing I didn’t like about this mat is that it came with no cleaning instructions, and the only way I could find to clean it is to scrub it in the sink and then find a way to prop it up in a draining rack somehow to drip dry. But other than that, I love it! The old Tupperware pie mat that I got many many years ago was very awkward to use and didn’t grip the counter well at all. This one stays wherever you put it, whether that’s the kitchen counter, the kitchen table or whatever and it does not slip when you’re rolling out pie crust or cookie dough. The functionality of it far outweighs the minor annoyance of cleaning it.
