Many of the filterless Melitta style drip coffee makers leave too much residue at the bottom of the cup. Not this one. It leaves a lot less. It doesn't totally filter out all the particles from the Bustelo coffee I usually make, but it never claimed to handle espresso grind coffee. The fact that it does it as well as it does is a plus.A tip to anyone who buys one: it comes with a cute little cleaning brush. Throw that away immediately. Otherwise, within two or three uses, it self-destructs, leaving little brush hairs all over the place. No good.The funnel itself cleans up nicely with your standard kitchen scrubbie, so take heart as you toss the brush into the dumpster that you never needed it and most certainly didn't want to be there when it goes bad.I am very happy with this coffee filter, as it has the filtering speed I expected. I want this filter to last for many years, filtering my Colombian coffee four times a day!I bought this to use for straining my goats milk from my farm. It's a great alternative to using disposable straining papers. It strains effectively. Make sure to rinse with hot water immediately after using to prevent any clogging/build up that may occurI bought this pour over coffee maker so I could easily brew single cups of coffee. At first I wasn't happy with it because the coffee tasted awful, but once I learned that I had to get the water a bit hotter and pause for 30 seconds after pouring in a little bit of water the coffee tasted much better. I also like that it doesn't require any filters and can be easily cleaned by hand or in the dishwasher.
