Like the look of this attractive French Press and it’s easy to clean. Coffee taste great too!EDIT: I spoke with Michael at Lafeeca to explain my situation and he was kind, responsive and very generously offered me a partial refund. You can't go wrong with good customer service so I am increasing the stars on my review. The primary reason I bought this french press was because of it's aesthetic value. It is modern and minimal and the matte black finish is beautiful and matches perfectly with a Fellow Stagg or Corvo Kettle - it almost looks like they were made by the same company. The two of them together look great on the counter. It looks very similar to a YIELD french press which is 3x the price. The press is nice and heavy and the plunger operates well. The handle is comfortable and overall I think this is a good purchase. There are a couple drawbacks however ---1) The matte finish scratches easily and shows coffee drips very clearly. I have a few other matte black items in my kitchen and they all show smudges and drips so this is not unique to the Lafeeca. I would say, however, that the finish does scratch more easily than other items I have with similar finishes. The stainless steel does show through and stands out against the black. In order to keep this thing looking as beautiful as it did fresh out of the box, you need to be careful with it.2) There is a lip inside the lid that can be turned to "close" the press, as you have probably seen in most french presses. However on the Lafeeca, even in the closed position there is still a large gap where heat can escape (see photos). This results in lukewarm coffee after about 20 minutes. If you plan to share the pot or drink quickly - this shouldn't be much of an issue for you.Despite these points I think it can potentially be a good purchase for the right person. For $40 I don't think you will find a better *looking* press anywhere, especially if you have a Fellow kettle to match. If heat retention is not important to you and you are willing to be careful with cleaning it is a good value. We wanted something nice to look at since it lives on our counter. We use fine grind and it still pushes down smoothly. It’s hand wash only. Which isn’t an issue if you rinse it just after use. If you’re a dishwasher person this is not for you.Nice French press. Well made, heavy, keeps coffee warm.White finish stains and chips after just a few uses.I’d go for the stainless steel finish. Also had to learn not to fill too high or coffee bubbles out of the spout. Leave about a half inch from the bottom of the spout.I use this every day in the morning. I rinse the ground out with a hose over the lawn. Cleans it out, feeds and waters the lawn. You will be happy with this purchase. After my husband accidentally chucked the glass French press into the back yard to its demise, he set out to find one that might keep the coffee hot for longer than just a few minutes wrapped up in a dish towel. This press keeps the coffee piping hot for about an hour. The mesh filter is better than those of previous presses we’ve had. Didn’t really realize that “camper coffee” wasn’t just a feature of the French press.Cons: The sides of the canister constantly has finger prints all over it, but will polish up nicely if you are annoyed by that kind of thing (me) and take the time to wipe them off (also me).Super happy with this find. This is a beautiful French press for sure. I bought the rose gold which is more like rose silver, and very very light in color (which is good if you don’t want it to be overly feminine). It’s extremely heavy duty, almost to a fault because its weight makes it difficult for me to empty the used coffee grounds into the trash bin. I don’t have a garbage disposal in the sink, so it needs to go in the trash. I think the weight would be a problem for someone with arthritis or issues with grip strength. It makes two 16 ounce coffees per max fill. And it’s beautiful in 4 minutes. I use 3 scoops of coffee grounds per 16 ounce coffee. Also it stays hot for over an hour but not sure about two hours yet, haven’t tried. No coffee grounds are in my mug, but you can see it’s richer and has some sediment (which is a good thing) compared to a cup from a coffee machine. One note I would make to the manufacturer is that it’d be nice to have a small line marking where the lid has an opening to pour the coffee. It will pour from any part of the lid, but there’s one part that’s more of a gap so the coffee can flow faster while pouring. It’s not marked though so it isn’t easy to see.I had an issue with my first French press having holes on the inside leaking water into the walls, I was 30 days past the time they normally allow returns. They had absolutely no problems returning an email within 24 hours and an hour after that I have a tracking number for a new one. This company is fantastic.Beyond that it makes amazing coffee. I put both filters on so I can go super fine and dark. Gorgeous piece of machinery that will last a long time. I know I just got a defective one, no quarrels. Thank you! After losing three french presses due to a confluence of a large cat, a small counter, and the fragility of glass decanters something had to change. The first couple times you can blame the cat and it's a funny story you tell your friends. But that third time, you have to keep it to yourself. Otherwise people will think it's your fault. "Time to adapt, big guy." So I adapted and I love this press. It's durable. It's solid. It should last forever. There was no metallic taste, which was a fear. The large cat now eats at the plants in petulant defeat. Now the big downside is the paint. I hand wash everything. I find it peaceful. Or it's that I can't fit a dishwasher in my tiny kitchen. Let's pretend it's the first reason. By about month two of washing once per day the paint on the bottom and around the inside of the handle started to wear away. Once water got under the paint the quickening began. Eventually I could rub it off with my fingernail. Under the watchful eye of a furry sourpuss I decided to make lemonade. I tossed it in hot water, let it soak for a bit, and then stripped the rest of the paint off with a guitar pick. I'm left with the brushed metal version, which is fine, because it matches my kettle. But I also miss the sage green. It was nice. Paint on metal has to be enameled to survive any length of time and this isn't.The only other minor suggestion would be to have a notch or keyhole at the base that you unscrew to change the filter. If it gets screwed in too tight or misthreaded the round cylinder doesn't allow for much of a grip to get it separated.Still, it's a great press as I struggle to build the bottom bun on this compliment sandwich. I'd buy it again, not that I think I'll ever need to, unless the large cat evolves. Time will tell. Take care and remember what our mothers taught us. "If it's lightly painted everything is tainted but with brushed and bronze you do no wrong."Se nota que el material es de buena calidad.
