Based on reading products reviews, ice makers don't seem to last very long, but three months after purchasing this one I can report that it continues to work just fine daily. We leave it on 24/7 - both to pull ice from the basket and also to fill a container in the freezer - and I haven't noticed a jump in our electric bill. The ice is fine - we were not aware how much we would love the fact that it melts quickly in your drink, cooling it off fast. Be aware that this is a larger unit which has a bigger ice basket, so if you are just pulling ice from the unit, a lot of the ice is just going to sit there unless you are serving up for a party. For filling cube containers in the freezer though, the extra capacity is a definite bonus. We run the cleaning feature 3x with some ice maker cleaner every two weeks but we also only use heavily filtered water in it. No problems with mold or anything yucky. This unit is a bit loud when running with the fans blaring away but that really doesn't bother us. I just hope this continues to last.If you store ice in the freezer from this unit, be aware that the ice will stick together. It very easily separates with a light smack with a hammer, which I put a plastic bag over the head of. After that you can put it back in the freezer and it will stay looseFor the speed of the ice being produced, VERY GOOD! Noise emitting from the unit could be a bit quieter but having ice within 7 minutes, i can overlook the noises.I really like this ice machine and recommend it to my friends. I love the quantity and quality it produces. We use filtered water and hardly ever have to clean it. It’s loud at night so my husband sometimes turns it off. I love it.This unit is replacing a smaller maker. The Euhomy maker makes more ice and faster and with larger cubes. I really like the Euhomy. It is easy to clean and goes right back to work. I am glad I picked it as my new ice maker.Perfect Ice Machine for our needs! This ice maker is not very noisy, I would describe the noise levels as minimal. We have enjoyed having fresh ice on hand all summer! We use bottled water when filling our ice maker, leaving the ice flavorless! The machine makes Ice very quickly.I only used it for a week but love ice large size ice and makes batches fast.In our RVThe flavor of the ice is determined by the flavor of the water. The manufacturer suggest a weekly cleaning of the ice maker. What a hassle. I guess they assume a person uses tap water which nay contain stuff that may impair the operation of the ice maker. In our home we have a well and use an RO filter. There is an old computer saying "Garbage in, Garbage out". I would suggest to anyone using an ice maker to have an inexpensive filter pitcher and use filtered water and you will not need to clean every 90 days or so. In addition your ice tea will taste like ice tea and not something else.
