Made of durable stainless steel, you can be sure this coffee press can stand up to the rigors of day-to-day use. Plus, it's easy to use. Simply place the plate and brewing chamber atop your mug, pour in measured-out coffee grounds, place the phin filter on top of the coffee, and pour the water in.
This manual style of coffee making is the perfect blend between pour-over and french press brewing. It has the full immersion and steel filter benefits of a french press, while also capturing the qualities of a pour-over by allowing gravity to draw the brewed coffee down into the cup.
For versatility, this coffee press can be used with hot coffee, Vietnamese iced coffee, loose leaf tea, and more. And thanks to its stainless steel structure, you can be sure this coffee press can stand up to the rigors of day-to-day use. I have a few different ones like this and wanted to expand so picked two of these up. Hands down, these are not made nearly as well as the other ones I have. Don't mistake what I'm saying, they are solid products that I don't think are going to fall apart any time soon. But the way they were made leaves some to be desired. Look at the pics. See how they surface looks like it's brushed, maybe even polished stainless steel? Yeah well, both of the ones I received have tooling marks on much of the surface. Also, the welds for the handles show on the inside, unlike the other ones I have. Looking beyond the cosmetics, they do make a great cup of coffee if you do it right.1.) Using typical grounds for a dip coffee maker, fill the filter so that there is just enough threading on the screw for the top screen to grab onto. Feel free to pack it down.2.) Screw in the the top filter, thumb tight.3.) Place assembly on cup.4.) Add a little hot water to the filter, just enough to cover the top filter.5.) Wait a minute or so.6.) Fill the rest of the filter with hot water (some people back the top filter off one or two turns, I leave it).7.) Place cap on filter.8.) Wait. You can check the progress by looking under the cap to see if all the water is gone. It will take a good 10min or so.9.) Enjoy.
