The Superior Ring Bending Tool is a reliable and efficient solution for all your bending needs. It consists of a main unit, along with a set of matched posts and dies, ensuring consistent and precise results every time. The tool includes round posts and corresponding dies in various sizes: 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm in diameter. Additionally, it features a 90° square post and a 60° diamond-shaped post for creating perfect right-angled bends and sharper bends respectively. At Smadou, we are committed to continuous improvement, which may result in slight variations and special value deals. However, the tool's operation remains consistent across all versions. Designed with user-friendliness in mind, here are some tips to achieve optimal results: Securely affix the tool to a solid surface during setup. It is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users, and the handle can be rotated accordingly. You have several setup options: a. Utilize screws or bolts to directly fix the unit onto your workbench using the four countersunk holes. Avoid placing a screw into the post hole. b. Screw the unit onto a plank of wood, which can then be clamped to your workbench using a G-clamp. This method provides portability without causing damage. Placing rubber grip matting underneath the plank can enhance grip and protect your worktop. c. If you have a fixed bench vice, place the bender on top of the vice jaws and tightly clamp it underneath. Take note of the recessed step beneath the unit, which offers a secure yet flexible setup. Bending Rings To start bending rings, you'll need a strip of annealed metal. It's advisable for the strip to be no wider than the height of the post you're using. For your ring size, you might consider selecting a post slightly smaller than your desired final size. Begin by inserting the post into the depression on the main unit, ensuring a secure fit. Each post is paired with a corresponding die featuring a stud at the rear. Align the stud with the slot on the main unit, ensuring that the die fully wraps around the post. Create a gap between the post and die by using the handle to move them apart. Carefully insert your strip between the two, making sure to keep the edge flat against the surface of the unit at all times to maintain a precise 90-degree bend. Start by laying the strip across the die and making your initial bend slightly away from the end. Save bending the end for later, once you've established a curve. As you pull the handle towards the post, the piston will slide, exerting pressure on the die and bending the strip around the post. Release the pressure, move your strip a few millimeters further along, and pull the lever again to continue the bending process. Repeat these steps, gradually moving the strip along and bending incrementally. When you've achieved a half curve, insert the very end of your strip to ensure a smooth curve all the way to the end. Take care to avoid leaving any marks where the strip overlaps itself. To determine the ring size, use a mandrel. Cut the strip at the point of overlap and proceed with soldering as usual. Tip: If you're working with a thicker strip, consider using a larger die with the same post to achieve a smoother curve. Nylon Dies For softer metals, profiled ring shanks, or textured strips, smadou offers two sets of nylon dies. These tough thermoplastic dies reduce the chance of marking delicate metals while maintaining the same bending capabilities. Unlike most ring making tools that leave marks on the material due to external force, our ring maker kit comes with nylon dies that allow you to make bends without marring delicate materials. 12mm,14mm,16mm,18mm,20mm,22mm Awesome tool, simple to use, and makes great rings,90° shape bend. This ring bending kit is so easy to use and makes quick work of making rings in all sizes. So far it has worked fine for making rings out of silver plate flatware. it is so neat! I wanted a tool that could help me bend spoons and forks to make rings. Works great for making spoon rings as long as spoons aren’t too thick. This ring maker tool has made making rings so much easier and I get more accurate sizes and shapes. This bending tool speeds up the process and allows artisans to focus on their creativity. Square Bends The Superior Ring Bending Tool also includes a square post and die for making perfect right-angled bends. To use this feature, simply insert the post and die, and pull the handle to ensure the square post fits perfectly into the die. Mark the desired bend location on your strip and align the mark with the inner corner of the post. Keep the strip flat on the surface to create a straight bend across the strip. Additionally, the set includes a 60° diamond-shaped die for creating sharper bends, which is ideal for bent findings such as chain ends or bails. This die ensures a perfect and accurate starting bend. Tough Metals For tougher metals like steel or thick cutlery, consider using the ring shank bender. This larger tool provides more leverage. However, please note that the Superior Ring Bending Tool is designed for working with soft precious metals, not tough metals. Tool Maintenance To maintain the tool's performance, an occasional light coating of household oil is all that is required. Apply the oil with a soft cloth, making sure to coat the posts and dies as well. If no post is inserted, move the lever back and forth while applying a few drops of oil around the moving block (piston). Ensure that it moves smoothly and springs back when the lever is operated. If the tool will not be used for an extended period, coat all parts with a light application of oil and store them in a sealed plastic container in a dry place. To keep the tools dry and rust-free, consider using small silica gel packets in the sealed box.

So far, so good. My son wanted this for his birthday to make rings and has really enjoyed it. It works really well with thinner, lighter flatwear. It would be much easier to use if the handle were a little longer. He's made so many awesome rings so far and is looking forward to many more.Edit 8/22/24Less than 2 months of use and the threading inside the handle snapped and it's broken off and can't be put back on. My son is so upset! He's on the Spectrum and this really gave him a sense of accomplishment, making his rings. I can't afford to buy another one :( I guess there's no way to contact the Seller now that 30 days has passed, not that I can find anyway. I'm so disappointed.
