About Squishy Circuits Squishy Circuits is for all ages and all creative minds. Developed in 2011 in the Playful Learning Lab at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, this method of teaching electrical circuits with conductive and insulating dough is used for education in classrooms, homes, libraries, and museums worldwide. Students can squish, mold, and sculpt the dough all while engaging in the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and art. Squishy Circuits uses circuit-building materials to teach simple concepts of electricity. A 4-AA battery pack delivers electricity through the conductive dough and powers the LEDs, buzzers, or motors. Our kits exceed toy safety regulations for ages 8 and up. Embrace your inner scientist with Squishy Circuits! Need a creative idea? Included in the kit are several projects to get you started. However, for a wider range of creative possibilities, be sure to explore our website, where you'll find an array of additional projects and free tutorials! Lite Kit Just start building. The Lite Kit is our most basic kit. Complete with a battery holder, 15 LEDs, and one container of conductive dough, the Lite Kit includes everything you need to make your first, basic Squishy Circuits project. The battery holder makes the Lite Kit a perfect add-on when combined with larger kits like the Deluxe Kit. Safe Designed with safety in mind, Squishy Circuits exceeds toy safety regulations. It has been used in homes and schools around the world with thousands of experimenting hands of all ages.
I really like this product. My students enjoyed it, easily learned by using it and their imaginations are definitely sparked. Give it a try.A few words of caution: 1. This kit contains the clay only.2. It can be difficult for students to learn why the white non-conductive clay must be reserved for specific “jobs” only.3. Students should have built a circuit before using this product so they can understand the clay, how to use it and how it works. Otherwise they may have limited benefit from using a cute and valuable product. (BTW: When I suggest “building a circuit” I’m not suggesting circuits that “snap” together.)
